What to expect?
Sunday mornings are central to what we're about at Reformation. Some people come dressed formally; others very casually. If you're new, then someone you don't know will probably greet you and introduce themselves. The "style" of worship (which is kind of a hard thing to really pin down, anyway) feels like traditional church. There's music on an organ or piano; the pastors wear vestments (robes). But we keep it lively and engaging, because we always strive to connect the amazing beauty of God to the daily realities of our lives.
We celebrate Holy Communion at every service. We pray. We sing. We hear the incredible story of God's love for the world in the Bible. We invited children to come to the front of the church for a Children's Sermon at every service. Kids are always welcome in worship, but we do have a nursery for younger children if you want to take advantage of that. If you haven't been a churchgoer, there will be parts that might seem strange. Don't let that bother you; it's OK. We are glad you're with us and we will help you learn how our worship service works so you can experience God's love for you here.
During the school year, we have "Faith Connections" between services. This is our "no-workbook, interactive, relationship-driven" time of food, fellowship, and growing in faith. There's a group for younger kids, a couple of groups for teens and adults, and did we mention food and fellowship?
We hope you'll join us. You've probably seen our mission statement, "Invite. Engage. Equip. Embody." On Sunday mornings, we experience how Jesus invites us into new life. We engage with God and each other to grow in faith. We are equipped to grow in our faith and follow Jesus in daily life. And we are filled with God's grace, so that we may embody the love of Christ for our world. This is our journey. We'd love to share it with you!
