The parable for today from Luke 16:19-31 is vivid and powerful. There are two men on opposite sides of a chasm. One is wrapped in the love and security of our ancestor in the faith, Abraham. The other is in torment. Their positions in the parable are the exact opposite of what they experienced in life. Pastor Paige connects this parable to another part of our worship service, Confession & Forgiveness. She asks listeners to consider what actions they are leaving “undone” and what chasms have started forming in their lives as a result. On the other hand, she asks what they could accomplish, for the sake of our neighbors, if they tapped into the love and grace that Jesus freely gives us.
We invite you to go to www.rlcmilford.com/give to invest in our ministry. At that link, you will find ways to make online donations to provide the resources needed for our church to keep on reaching out with the love of Jesus. Thank you for your generous support!
