In today's first reading (Genesis 50:15-21), we hear the end of the story of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob who rose from slavery and prison in Egypt to become the Pharaoh's most powerful advisor. Betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused of a crime he never committed, forgotten by those he helped, he still came to a place of forgiveness and peace. He saw how his struggles and suffering were used by God to save countless lives during a devastating famine. What can he teach us about trials, forgiveness, and the work of God?
