“The day is coming, burning like an oven” (Malachi 4:1). As we approach the end of the Church calendar year, our readings focus on “the end times.” Talk about “the last days” often sounds like an ominous threat, and the words of the Old Testament prophet Malachi come across that way at first. But in this sermon, Pastor Eric centers us in the promise that God never changes, and God is love. The coming of Christ is not a warning about our destruction in the future, but a gift of healing that begins now by faith, and will come to fullness when Christ comes again.
