“Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:20). Well, thanks, Jesus! That makes us all breathe a little easier! How can we live up to an impossible standard of righteousness? And, in this culturally strained season, when not only does everyone seem to be demanding that we express the exact, correct, righteous opinion on everything, but also when the stakes do seem to be so high for the well-being of our society, how can we possibly "get it right?" Maybe the problem isn't political. Maybe it's spiritual. And maybe if we stopped thinking we could get it right through our own efforts and wisdom, we might be in a better place. In this sermon from Matthew 5:13-20, Pastor Eric helps us take hold of the grace of Jesus when the burdens of being righteous are just too heavy to bear.
We invite you to use the “Support Reformation’s Ministry” button above to invest in our ministry. At that link, you will find ways to make online donations to provide the resources needed for our church to keep on reaching out with the love of Jesus. Thank you for your generous support!
