The festival of Transfiguration Sunday lets us see for a brief moment how Jesus shines with the dazzling light of God. In this sermon, Pastor Paige explores the timing of the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-9) in the life of Jesus and in our lives as well. Why does God give us this moment with Jesus on the mountaintop and speak to us out of the cloud? It was a terrifying experience for the disciples until the bright light went away and Jesus touched them and told them to rise. When we pause our busy lives to imagine the Transfiguration, we are renewed for our ministry, because the promises of God and the love of Jesus go down the mountain with us.
